This is *such* a vital step! It never ceases to amaze me how many self-publishing authors think that proper editing is some kind of optional extra, or something that can be skipped if you’re a “good enough” writer… Having lived and worked with editors, I can attest to the fact that it is a completely different skill-set, and absolutely necessary in getting a manuscript to a publishable standard!
