Kudos… Sho nuff we found a wonderful cheer at TSF
which should be eulogized and sanctified… perhaps overboard,
but excellent yes. So a cheer for your cheering…

What is the spirit of TSF you would like to know?
Is there special quality which a fighter should show?
Be certain that there are not answers carved in stone,
just some common qualities which would be shown.

Harmony is a quality which cannot be constrained,
like a freight train whose speed cannot be detained;
Into the fray of the “fights” some time to spend,
thoughtful statements by fighter’s you always append.

The loyalty of your team will always be unbending,
and ventures into other teams turf will be unending;
In everyone you will always find a dear friend,
acts of compassion will never prove to be a dead-end.

The joy of unleashing a valiant stab at prose,
you never tire of poetry which you try to compose;
Of the humble spirit of loosing you are not surprised,
and of cheer you always think it should be eulogized.

God Makes All Things New

Margaret from soulfood101blog's avatarThe Word

I was thinking about how amazing God really is.

I was looking out at some rose bushes I had planted, years and years ago, and after some improper pruning, well they were just dying. So, early this year I went out and cut them all the way to the ground.

I said a prayer to God which pretty much went like this, “Well Lord, if You want these to live, You’ll have to fix them because I certainly made a mess of trying to fix them myself. 20170502_143356-1Only You can, if it’s Your will. I love You. Amen.”

A couple of weeks ago, these little beauties took off. I mean I had literally cut them down even with the ground. Slowly new branches formed. Then came the leaves, and now I have beautiful blooms bursting out all over.

God can do everything.

He can take anything , that to us seems like a…

3 Ways to Write a Character You Hate

theryanlanz's avatarRyan Lanz

by Kathryn

Now, when I say ‘characters you hate’, I don’t mean villains.

In fact, some of my favorite characters in pieces I’ve written and read have been villains.

What I mean when I say ‘characters you hate’, is the characters who are reprehensible pieces of crap who also (unfortunately) serve a significant purpose to the storyline.

It’s not easy to write them. That’s established.

Kudos

Forward into a distant time and place,
a winged messenger was sent post haste;
A gift for ~Co-Capt Dream Fairy~ whose poems excell,
and the words there in which cast a spell.

One of her recent poems was reflective,
so our gift to her must be quite selective;
Perhaps a line or two from Kublai Khan,
or an ancient manuscript of the ancient lexicon.

Neither of these gifts will do something new,
a treasure from the heart and claimed by few;
The promise of the Faerie Mother for continued light,
and protection throughout the darkness of night?

Perhaps the promise will do for a start,
and could be by this poem we have done our part;
But of her peotry we can be certain because true,
the gifts of writing and clarity are born only by a few.

Welcome Rave Review Book Club (RRBC) members, ASMSG members, unaffiliated sundry onlookers, and surfer stumble-bys!

You might know me as Stephen Geez, but right now you’re meeting (revisiting?) my GeezWriter brand for enhancing writing and publishing skills. I’ve volunteer-taught story-writing classes to youths and adults around the USA over many decades while developing a plethora of hand-outs and how-to’s. I’ve packaged a dozen or so how-to books and outlined many more, the first five of which are now available on Amazon. The GeezWriter website where this blog is embedded offers pointers and services (book trailers, editing, cover design—you can find the list) from Geez and my talented crew as well as from other experts such as the esteemed Harmony Kent, Lizzie Chantree, Marcha Fox, and Beem Weeks. Other experts have accepted my invitation to join, so watch for this to keep expanding.

I’m The Weird Mom

asewalson's avatarA Beautiful Disaster

Spring is here!!!! Isn’t it? Currently there is a winter weather watch just to the west of us…..and tomorrow is May 1st. Crazy!

I’m the weird mom who is secretly hoping for a snow day tomorrow. You think I am crazy, right? Because we have already had a lot of snow days this year, and our school year has already been extended by one day due to the weather. Okay, I will explain my reasoning.

My husband won a national teaching award, which I am very proud of. He has to go to the ceremony and conference at the end of May in Texas to receive his award. Being the wonderful wife that I am, I will be accompanying him on this trip. 😉 Our kids will be staying here with my mother-in-law while we are gone. I was excited when I learned that we were coming home on Tuesday…
