What another great read by Ms. Clarke. I’ve read other books in any African setting, but this was the first one I’ve read in this series. This book can be read as a standalone book. As book two in the series, this one is rather awesome. I could relate to the character of Belinda and, to be honest, every page either had me sad for the protagonists or laughing at the absurdity of what has been woven into a tapestry worthy of a movie. Not just English humor, but if one can’t laugh in situations as they arise, they need more laughter in their life. The book starts in London, then goes to Los Angeles and finally the Mediterranean. Between all of that, the meat of this book is ripe for the next reader.
